世界教育机器人大赛首次登陆澳洲 2017 公开赛圆满完成

东南网澳大利亚7月25日讯(本网记者 苏小魁) 当地时间7月23日,世界教育机器人大赛(WER)2017赛季澳洲公开赛于悉尼奥体中心举行。

此次比赛是世界教育机器人大赛首次登陆澳洲,受到当地政府和学校的高度重视。新南威尔士州上议员,多元文化影子部长 Sophie Cotsis 女士,中华人民共和国驻悉尼总领馆教育领事刘文武先生,WER 澳大利亚赛区组委会主席及ERC Robotics Lab 校长 Alex Tang 先生,WER 秘书长何婷女士,新南威尔士大学电器和通信工程学院院长 Julien Epps 教授等重要嘉宾出席开赛仪式并致辞。

比赛延续了 2017 赛季“工业时代”的主题,仍以积木机器人赛项为主,分为场地赛、拓展任务赛、团队展示赛等环节。赛场上,无论是中国还是外国选手,都认真投入,展现了惊人的想象力和创造力。

经过角逐,最终,来自中国杭州江南实验学校的JiangNan S3队伍夺得了小学组比赛冠军,而同一学校的JiangNan M3队伍则获得了中学组比赛的冠军。

据悉,世界教育机器人大赛WER(World Educational Robot Contest)是由"世界教育机器人学会 "(World Educational Robotics Society)发起并主办,针对 4 至 18 岁少年儿童的国际性教育机器人比赛。每年全球有超过 30 个国家的近 50 万名选手参加WER的各级比赛。

WER 2017 Successfully Held in Sydney

Southeast Net Australia July 24 (Andy Su) Local time July 23, the World Educational Robot (WER) Contest 2017 was successfully held in Sydney Olympic Park.

The WER Contest is founded and organised by World Educational Robotics Society. It is a contest that targets children from 4 to 18 years old. Every year there are around 500, 000 contestants from more than 30 countries participating in this contest globally.

Since this is the first time for Australia to host the WER Contest, the contest is strongly supported by local authorities, organisations and students. The following honoured guests attended the opening event of the contest: Member of the NSW Legislative Assembly and Shadow Minister for Multiculturalism Ms.Sophie Cotsis,Consul (Education) from the PRC Consulate General in Sydney Mr.Liu Wenwu, WER Australia Chairman and principal of ERC Robotics Lab Mr.Alex Tang, WER Secretary Ms.He Ting,Director of UNSW School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications Dr.Julien Epps.

The contest continued the 2017 theme of “industrialisation”. The contestants need to build their own brick robots in order to complete several tasks for the competition. Participants from both China and Australia demonstrated great dedication, incredible imagination and creativity.

At the end of the contest, two teams from the China Hangzhou Jiangnan Experimental School, JiangNan S3 and JiangNan M3, won both championships for the elementary school sector and the high school sector respectively.
